The MCER recommended consolidating four South triad schools — Arp Elementary, Bain Elementary, Fairview Elementary and Lebhart Elementary — into the new Arp building with a capacity of 550 students. ________________________________ The scope of the project will include the design of a new elementary school facility to be constructed on an existing property owned by the Laramie County School District No. One. Lot 2 of Block 1 of the Afflerbach Addition (402 West Wallick Road). The existing property will be used for the development of a new 5th/6th elementary school with a planned capacity of Revised August 2019 Page 4 of 11 Request for Proposal 650 students. The SFD allowable building area for the school is 86,054 gsf. It’s anticipated the District will seek acknowledgement of a 2,550 square foot enhancement to the gym size which will increase the overall total gross area for the new school to 88,604 gross square feet. The fee proposal will include fees for providing the new school facility using the District’s prototype upper elementary school design used for Coyote Ridge Elementary School 5th/6th elementary school. It’s noted there are floor plan adjustments to the prototype design as the key attributes of the Coyote Ridge Elementary School building include: • Gross building area of approximately 72,815 gsf • Capacity of 552 students • Coyote Ridge does not include facility provisions for a Title 1 school. • The SpED enrollment is significantly lower than anticipated for the new South Triad 5th/6th elementary school and therefore Coyote Ridge has limited Resource classrooms and a small self-contained Special Needs classroom. The general facility configuration, design and construction detailing has been deemed successful by the District and School Facilities Division. The adjusted prototype design for the South Triad 5th/6th elementary school will include additional classrooms, additional SpEd facilities and minor space allocation adjustments as noted in the District’s South Triad 5th/6th Elementary School Program and Educational Specifications. These will be provided to the short-listed firms for the interviews during the design procurement process.
