Site work and renovation of a civil project in Kent, Ohio. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

This project seeks to replace bulk storage tanks, day storage tanks, metering pumps, transfer pumps, and all associated piping, valves, supports, and other components throughout the West Chemical Building at the Akron Water Plant in Kent, Ohio. The chemical room that will be affected is the sodium hypochlorite system. Knockout wall reconstruction will be required. HVAC upgrades, painting of the interior chemical room, and material handling and storage are also included. EPA Goals: 3.1% MBE and 2.3% WBE City of Akron Local Goal: 18% EDGE/DBE/MBE/WBE/SBE/VBE (minimum 3% WBE) The City of Akron is committed to ensuring that individuals with disabilities are able to fully participate in public programs, services, and activities. Except as provided in Section 102.07 of the City of Akron, Construction and Materials Specifications, 2008 Edition, each proposal must be accompanied by a certified check in the sum of 10% of bids on a solvent bank, or a bid bond in like amount, acceptable to the City of Akron, as a guarantee, that if the proposal is accepted, a contract will be entered into. Except as provided in Section 103.05 of the City of Akron, Construction and Materials Specifications, 2008 Edition, the Proposer to whom the Agreement is awarded will be required to furnish a performance and payment bond in the sum of 100% of the Contract Price for the faithful performance of the contract. The performance and payment bond shall remain in full effect until Final Completion of the Project. Proposals may be held by City for a period not to exceed one hundred twenty (120) days after the date Proposals are opened for the purpose of reviewing the Proposals and investigating the qualifications of Proposers prior to awarding the Agreement. The Director of Public Service reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive informalities. Deadline for Questions to City April 25 by 11:00 am
