Site work and new construction of a civil project in New Windsor, New York. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
Project work includes construction of a new 5.0 mgd Water Treatment Plant located at the existing decommissioned Stewart Water Filtration Plant & Reservoir at Stewart International Airport. The project includes the replacement of the existing Jackson Ave. Pump Station and Catskill Aqueduct tap, transmission line, water treatment plant, and water storage. The total acreage owned by the Town and proposed to be disturbed is approximately 4.0 acres. The new water treatment plant will connect to the existing distribution system and serve as the primary source of drinking water to provide users of the Town of New Windsor Consolidated Water District with a sufficient and reliable potable water source. As of January 30, 2025, this project is in the conceptual phase. Information regarding a design firm and the general contractor selection timeline has not been disclosed.
