This project is to convert the existing conventional activated sludge plant into a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) that focuses on mobile organic biofilm treatment to address the current and anticipated growth. The proposed design capacity is 3.0 mgd with a peak of 12.0 mgd to provide improved wastewater treatment capacity for the City of Fulshear (Owner). Complete treatment will be provided by the following unit processes: 1. Mechanical Screen - Installation of a new mechanical screen split structure with two (2) mechanical screens installed in each concrete channel. 2. Manual Bar Screen - Installation of new 1-inch manual bar screen installed in same concrete structure as the mechanical screen. 3. Grit Removal System (Additive Alternate) - Installation of one (1) new grit removal units with associated grit handling equipment. 4. Secondary Treatment System - Construction of new anoxic selector basins. Modification and retrofit of existing Aeration Basins with a Mobile Organic Biofilm (MOB). Includes a CMU building to house the MOB granular screens. Installation of pre-formed wet well and pumps for MOB return pump station. a. Additive Alternative - Construction of a new secondary clarifier. 5. Effluent Disinfection - Expansion of a chlorine and de-chlorination disinfection system with new concrete structures. 6. Solids Storage - Retrofit existing aerobic digesters to solids storage basins. 7. Solids Dewatering - Installation of new solids transfer pumps. Construction of new concrete pad and installation of two (2) new dewatering containers. a. Additive Alternative - Installation of a new mechanical dewatering system will be installed in the new dewatering building, with a trailer mounted dewatering system to meet TCEQ redundancy requirements. 8. Controls - New SCADA system will be installed for increased automation and remote monitoring capability.
