Renovation of a medical facility in St. John's, Newfoundland. Completed plans call for the renovation of a medical facility.
Closing Time: 2:00 PM (NT) ** Please note that there has been 5 addendum issued for this project. ** Question Acceptance Deadline 2025/06/09 02:00:00 PM NDT The Hyperbaric Medicine Suite is located on the east side of level 1 of the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's, NL. Due to patient demand and obsolete equipment, NLHS is undertaking the redevelopment of this suite in order to accommodate the installation of a new Multi-place Hyperbaric Chamber to allow for increased treatment capacity and capabilities, as well as improved functionality, patient flow, and overall patient care. An important aspect of this Project is the coordination of the installation of the Owner-Supplied Multi-place Hyperbaric Chamber. The chamber installation will be the responsibility of NLHS, but the successful bidder must indicate clearly on their schedule when the site will be ready to accept the chamber, as plans will need to be put in place and approved for the delivery of the chamber to site. Careful consideration must be made to account for the work required to prepare the space to accept the chamber, as well as the work required to complete the space once the chamber is installed. While renovations are underway, clinical operations will continue in adjacent spaces, therefore careful consideration must be made to ensure any potential impacts to these spaces are minimized. This includes coordination of work creating vibrations and excessive noise, work requiring interruptions of existing building systems, and any work encroaching on adjacent spaces, including corridors, offices, etc. Perspective bidders are encouraged to carefully review all documents associated with this RFP including all Schedules. The successful bidder must complete all work associated with this project. This includes the contract documents including the Specifications, all Drawings, General Conditions of Stipulated Price Contract, Schedule J Additional Bid Submission Documents, all Schedules and Appendices, all Addenda, and the Terms and Conditions for this Project. This includes: General Terms and Conditions (includes instructions to bidders) Schedule A- Statement of Work Schedule B - Financial Proposal Schedule C - RFP Form Schedule D - Oath of Confidentiality Schedule E- Conflict of Interest Form Schedule F - References (3) Schedule G-Specification Package 1 Design, supply, and erect scaffolding as required to facilitate requirements of this project. 2 Walk-Through Scaffolding Frames: The walk-through scaffolding frames are required to have a width of not less than 1524 mm (5 feet) (center-to-center between columns) and to have working platform levels (deck levels) not less than 1930mm (6 feet 4 inches) between platform levels. "Skywalk" masonry frames are approved for use on this project. .3 Working Platforms: .1 Provide working platforms (deck levels) at all work levels, consisting of three metal-framed, plywood-decked scaffolding planks, each having a width of not less than 482.6mm (19 inches). 2 Provide side brackets at all levels having a width of not less than 508mm (20 inches) and capable of safely supporting a standard 482.6mm (19 inch) wide. metal-framed, plywood-decked plank. Scaffolding frames having scaffolding decks on both sides of the scaffolding frames are, therefore, required to withstand a line load of 7.26 kN (500 lbs.) across the width of the scaffolding frames. .5 Spacing of Scaffolding Frames: The spacing of the scaffolding frames is at the discretion of the Scaffolding Contractor (i.e. 2133.6mm (7 ft.) center-to-center, 2438.4mm (8 ft.) center-to-center, or 3048mm (10 ft.) center-to-center). If greater spacing is required, the platform deck will require aluminium or steel beams typically supplied by a scaffolding manufacturer. 4 Lateral Support: 1 Tender No.: 2025-4843 Section 01 53 50-Access Scaffolding Page 3 of 5 The scaffolding is required to resist lateral construction loading as well as lateral loading from wind suction and wind pressure. Resistance to the lateral loading is to be provided by connecting the scaffolding to new steel frame. The anchors are to be supplied by the Scaffolding Contractor. 5 Steel anchor plates are, required to be installed plumb and in straight horizontal alignment Location of anchors to occur at the new composite panel joints to allow for removal following completion of metal composite panels. .6 Dismantling of the Scaffolding: The scaffolding is to be used by various sub-contractors. At completion of project, the Scaffolding Contractor is to dismantle the erected scaffolding and, where appropriate, remove from the job site. .7 Provide guard rails on all working platforms.
