Pit Location GCRC Gravel Pit #602 at 25615 Old US-2 East, Waters meet Township. Approximately 4.8 miles east of US-45. The Work will be substantially completed on or before November 14, 2025 and completed and ready for final payment on or before November 14, 2025. Work may commence no earlier than August 15, 2025 (unless approved in writing by GCRC); and once the Small Contract is executed. Which includes insurance, performance and payment bond requirements. Pit 602 may be used for staging material for a Chip Seal project in 2025 through August 15th by others. Award It will be the option of the Road Commission to award the bid, which is to the best interest and advantage of the Gogebic County Road Commission. Submittals: a) Company Experience: last three jobs greater than $150,000 relative to what is being bid on; b) Three references from Owners and/or Project Engineers of construction work greater than $150,000. Include name of organization, name of contact person, phone number, address & type of work completed relative to what is being bid on; c) Name and qualifications of foremen, year of experience as a foreman, licenses held, etc.; and d) Names of personnel to be used on the project and years of experience in current position. Work includes all Labor, materials, equipment, services, and documentation necessary to construct the Project defined herein. The Work may include related services such as testing, start-up, and commissioning, all as required by the Contract Document's. The Contractor shall complete all Work as specified or indicated in the Contract Documents. The Project is generally described as follows: "Bid on Crushed Gravel - Pit 602" which includes stump disposal; maintaining access drive and tracking pad; and processing and stockpiling of 30,000 cubic yards of MDOT 23A gravel and 5,000 cubic yards of 1 1/4 -inch stone at GCRC's pit location for GCRC's use throughout the year for maintenance and construction purposes. The Site of the Work includes property, easements, and designated work areas described in greater detail in the Contract Documents but generally located at Pit 602, 25615 Old US-2 East, Waters meet Township. Contractor and Owner recognize that time is of the essence in the performance of the Contract, and that Owner will incur damages if Contractor does not complete the Work according to the requirements of Paragraph 4.01. Because such damages for delay would be difficult and costly to determine, Owner and Contractor agree that as liquidated damages for delay (but not as a penalty) Contractor shall pay Owner $600 for each day that expires after the Contract Time for substantial completion. Before starting Work, Contractor shall furnish a performance bond and a payment bond from surety companies that are duly licensed or authorized to issue bonds in the required amounts in the jurisdiction in which the Project is located. Each bond shall be in an amount equal to the Contract Price, as security for the faithful performance and payment of all of Contractor's obligations under the Contract. These bonds shall remain in effect until the completion of the correction period specified in Paragraph 7.12 but, in any case, not less than one year after the date when final payment becomes due. The Board reserves the right to reject or accept any bid or all bids or to waive irregularities and to accept any bid that, in the opinion of the Board, is to the best interest and advantage of the County of Gogebic County Road Commission.
