Renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in Maplewood, Missouri. Conceptual plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field.
The City of Maplewood has secured a grant from the St. Louis County Municipal Park Commission in the $410,000 for the renovation of the existing park. The project must be completed by December 31, 2026. The city desires the project to be completed by December 2026. The terms of the grant limit fees are as follows: 9% for architect/engineering services and 6% for construction management. In 2023, the City of Maplewood hired a firm to prepare a Parks Master Plan, and that information is included as an attachment. City staff will seek input from citizens and its Parks and Recreation Commission to determine if the proposed layout from 2023 is still desirable. Submittals provided by firms responding to this request will be evaluated by City staff. Additionally, firms may be asked to attend the May 15, 2025, Park & Recreations Commission meeting at Maplewood City Hall. We anticipate seeking Council approval on May 27, 2025.
