Site work for a mixed-use development in Fort Smith, Northwest Territories. Completed plans call for site work for a transportation facility.

Procurement Shared Services (PSS) is requesting tenders on behalf of the Department of Infrastructure (INF) for the replacement of the sewage lift station at the airport in Fort Smith. .1 Work of this Contract comprises the general construction of a package duplex wastewater lift station, located at the Fort Smith Airport, Fort Smith, Northwest Territories; and identified as Fort Smith Airport Lift Station Replacement. Work includes, but is not limited to: .1 Demolition of existing dry well-wet well sanitary sewer lift station and other sanitary sewer appurtenances. .2 Abatement and disposal of asbestos cement pipe. .3 Demolition of existing electrical control panel and other electrical appurtenances. .4 Supply and installation of a new Xylem/Barski package duplex wastewater lift station. .5 Connections to existing gravity sanitary sewer system and sanitary force main system. .6 Connection to electrical system in existing maintenance building. .7 Management of wastewater throughout the progress of the Work. .8 Supply and installation of frost coverts in seven existing 1200 mm diameter manholes. .9 Replace top cone section on three existing 1200 mm diameter manholes with new eccentric style cones and install new culvert markers for winter identification. .2 Division of the Work among Subcontractors and suppliers/vendors is solely the Contractor's responsibility. Neither the Owner nor Consultant assumes any responsibility to act as an arbiter to establish subcontract terms between sectors or disciplines of work. 1 Regulatory Requirements: .1 Conform to applicable code for demolition work, dust control, products requiring electrical reconnection and disconnection. .2 Obtain required permits from authorities. .3 Do not close or obstruct egress width to any building or site exit. .4 Do not disable or disrupt building fir or lift safety systems. .5 Conform to applicable regulatory procedures when discovering hazardous or contaminated materials. .1 Lift station shall be Flygt TOP Series as manufactured by Xylem Canada LP and Barski Industries Ltd. No alternatives will be considered. .2 Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) Enclosure. .1 Pumping system: factory assembled. .2 Principal items of equipment to include two (2) identical submersible sewage pumping units, internal piping and valves, liquid level controls, lifting chains, guide bars, blower heater, vents complete with screens, covers, electrical wiring, control panel with circuit breakers and motor starters. .3 Insulated to partial depth. .3 Equipment and installation including as follows: .1 Temporary excavation protection. .2 Excavation for sewage lift station. 3 Placement of base aggregate materials. .4 Construction of concrete anti-flotation base in accordance with Section 03 30 00 - Cast-in-Place Concrete, and as detailed. .5 Installation of underground electrical feeder. .6 Connections to sanitary sewer and force main. .7 Supply and installation of package wastewater lift station in accordance with manufacturer's recommendations. .4 Wet well wastewater lift station: .1 Fully automatic, consisting of duplex submersible pumps mounted on rail system. .1 Ensure control is by sonar level transmitter with a series of hydrostatic level switches as backup. .2 Incorporate in control circuits to allow continuation of pump for pre-set time after normal pump shut down signal is received. .3 Operate both pumps when lag pump "on" water level is reached in wet well. .1 Incorporate into controls circuit to prevent simultaneous starting of pumps. Lag pump shall only start if lead pump is running or off. .2 Ensure lag pump shuts off when water level drops to pump "off" water level. .4 Locate control system in weatherproof control panel mounted on lift station. .1 Work of this Contract comprises the general construction of a package duplex wastewater lift station, located at the Fort Smith Airport, Fort Smith, Northwest Territories; and identified as Fort Smith Airport Lift Station Replacement.
