Site work and paving for a road / highway in Independence, Missouri. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.

**As of June 4, 2025, the project was awarded to Davenport Construction LLC but the awarded amount is not available.** The City of Independence is soliciting bids from qualified bidders for street cut repairs. Scope of Work Contractor must furnish all labor, equipment and materials and other resources required to perform the requirements specified in this document at the firm prices submitted herein. City departments will backfill street excavation with clean rock and will typically cover the rock with saturock mix (cold mix). The Contractor shall: 1. Trim edges of existing asphalt street cut by sawing one (1) foot beyond the excavation limits on all sides before placing base material. If additional existing asphalt street is needing to be removed, contractor shall notify department prior to doing so. 2. Use eight (8) inches minimum portland cement concrete base material in each street repair, unless alternate material is approved by the Director of Municipal Services or designee. 3. Use liquid asphalt tack coat on sides of cut and concrete base prior to placing asphalt surface. 4. Use two (2) inches minimum asphaltic concrete surface material in each street repair as stipulated in the City of Independence Design and Construction Manual. 5. All repairs shall comply with the specifications and details provided in the City of Independence Design and Construction Manual. 6. Repair requirements will vary based on age of roadway. Please refer to attached drawing for additional information. 7. Furnish all traffic control devices required including but not limited to barricades, arrow boards, street plates, etc., to ensure safe vehicular travel for all repair sites except those repairs completed within State right-of-way. The actual cost of traffic control devices will be paid by the City used on State right-of-way repairs only. 8. Make the street repair within thirty (30) days after written notification by City departments. 9. Maintain the street repair, at Contractor's expense, for a period of two years after date of repair. 10. Be responsible for the disposal of old concrete and asphalt. 11. Submit all subcontractor information (e.g., company name, address, phone number, contact person, etc.) as part of the response If the bidder plans to subcontract any of the work. All subcontracts must be approved by the Project Manager. 12. The Contractor will guarantee that the equipment, materials and workmanship furnished under the contract will be as specified and will be free from defect for a period of two years from the date of final City acceptance. In addition, the equipment or materials furnished by the Contractor shall, upon receipt of notice from the City, be repaired or replaced without expense to the City, and the Contractor shall hold the City harmless from any damage from faulty workmanship or materials installed under the agreement. 13. The City reserves the right to require a bond on any project in excess of $2,500.00. Copy of Maintenance Bond is included. 14. Submit payroll reports and affidavit (attached) to the Project Manager monthly; Insurance Please see Insurance Requirements, Section 26 of General Terms and Conditions. AWARD Award shall be made to the lowest priced most responsive and responsible bidder who submits the bid most advantageous to the City. Additional considerations will be given to prior contract history with the City, references, warranty information, delivery schedule, and other requirements as specified in the ITB. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids or portions of bids, make multiple awards, to waive irregularities and technicalities, and to request re-bids on the materials or services described in the bid documents. The City reserves the right to award the contract on such materials or services as the City deems will best serve its interests. The City reserves the right to award the contract on a partialorder basis, lump-sum or individual-item basis, or such combination as shall best serve the interest of the City unless otherwise specified. Conditional bids, including bids in are subject to rejection in whole or in part at the sole discretion of the City. Bids that take exception to the City's General Terms and Conditions will be rejected.
