The City of Beverly, hereinafter called the Owner, invites electronic pro-posals from Contractors for the Mechanical and Electrical Upgrades at the Central Fire Station, Beverly, Massachusetts, in accordance with the Contract Documents prepared by Gale Associates, Inc., 6 Bedford Farms Drive, Bedford, NH 03110. The Owner reserves the right to issue an addendum postponing the scheduled bid opening prior to the due date.General bidders must be certified by the Massachusetts Division of Cap-ital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) for the category of General Contracting. General bids shall be accompanied by a DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility for the category, and an Update Statement. Failure to provide a DCAMM Certificate of Eligibility and an Update Statement will result in the bid being rejected. .Each general bid shall be filed electronically with Online and accompanied by a bid deposit in an amount of five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid. Bid deposits shall be in the form of a bid bond, cash,certified check, or a treasurer's or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company, payable to the City of Beverly. A Performance and Payment Bond satisfactory in form to the Awarding Authority in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract and from a surety authorized to do business in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required of the successful bidder. General bidders are also advised that before contract award, the lowest general bidder shall be required to provide the Owner with documentation stating how is intends to meet the minority and women business enterprise goals for the project. The combined MBE and WBE goal is 10.4%. .The Awarding Authority will reject general bids when required to do so by the above-referenced General Laws.
