Site work for a playground / park / athletic field in Knoxville, Tennessee. Completed plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.

Bids will not be accepted from Respondents who did not attend the mandatory site visit. Please contact Daniel Dooley. All questions & comments are due by Wednesday, April 30, 2025, by 12:00pm CT in accordance with Terms & Conditions 1.4. The State's response to questions and comments will be posted via an Amendment on Monday, May 5, 2025. Scope of Work: 1. The Contractor shall provide TSD a rendering of the project for approval. 2. The Contractor shall remove and dispose of the existing playground and install a new playground in the area identified on Attachment A - Site Overview. a. The Contractor shall make the new site fully ADA compliant, including but not limited to, wheelchair accessibility. 3. The new playground shall be composed, at minimum, of the following items: a. Custom play system with similar use zone, comparable quality, and material of construction, and containing, at a minimum, the features present in Playcraft Systems structure R507D3EEA (Attachment B - Playcraft Structure Specs). b. Swing system with a minimum of five (5) swings, at least one (1) swing to be an inclusive style with seatbelt harness. Sizes should be appropriate for K-6 grade age students (Attachment C - Swings). c. Three (3) 6 benches with backs and in-ground mount (Attachment D - Benches). 4. The Contractor shall install new unitary ethylene propylene diene terpolymer (EPDM) poured in place rubber safety surface over the new playground location (approximately 3,550 square feet). a. Allsitework, including ensuring ADA accessibility for wheelchairs and individuals with disabilities. b. The Contractor shall provide and include all required materials, including all substrate materials (this includes crushed stone and soil, as needed) as part of this bid. 5. The Contractor shall install 6 x 4 concrete borders (approximately 242 linear feet). The Contractor shall install playground borders as needed where slope from play surface to surrounding area exceeds recommended safety limits work. The Contractor and TSD shall determine the location of concrete borders before installation. 6. The Contractor shall include drainage control as needed to ensure playground area does not hold water. 7. Any topsoil and/or clean fill dirt excavated and not needed can be stored onsite at TSDs campus. The Contractor shall coordinate soil placement with TSD. 8. The Contractor shall cover any areas of disturbed soil at the new playground after completion with 6 of topsoil, straw, and seeded with similar quality grass. 9. The Contractor shall have and maintain all required certifications and bonds for the project and work with existing playground equipment to maintain all warranties and safety ratings that may apply. The Contractor shall furnish proof of such certifications and bonds at the request of TSD at any time. 10. The Contractor shall complete all work in accordance with generally accepted trade organization and industry guidelines. 11. The Contractor reserves the right to hold on-site meeting(s) regarding any work-related concerns. Representatives of both the TSD and of the Contractor may be needed on-site for this meeting. 12. Any alteration from the specifications listed in the scope of work shall only be performed upon written change orders specifying any extra price/charge over the original proposal amount. 13. The site will be accessible for construction between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM ET, Monday - Friday
