The City of Rio Vista is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors for replastering and repair of the Rio Vista Community Pool located at 300 California Street, Rio Vista, CA 94571. The City aims to maintain a safe, enjoyable, and accessible aquatic facility for residents and visitors. The selected contractor will demonstrate experience with commercial and municipal pool renovations, adherence to applicable codes and safety standards, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results on schedule and within budget. This is a prevailing wage project. The Rio Vista Community Pool is an outdoor facility totaling approximately 4,800 square feet, with a capacity of 180,000 gallons and an average depth of 5 feet. The selected contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary to complete the following scope of work in accordance with industry standards and applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Base Scope of Work 1. Drain Pool Safely and efficiently drain the entire pool in compliance with local water disposal regulations. 2. Replaster Pool Surface Remove existing plaster as necessary. Prepare substrate by repairing any cracks or surface imperfections. Apply new standard plaster using approved materials and application methods as defined in the American National Standard for the Plastering of Swimming Pools and Spas Ensure a smooth, uniform, and durable finish throughout. 3. Repair and Replace Damaged Tile Inspect tiles around pool perimeter and waterline. Remove and replace damaged or missing tile to match existing design and color as closely as possible. Ensure all replaced tiles are securely affixed and grouted. 4. Replace Drain Covers Replace existing main drain covers with new drain covers. Ensure proper installation to meet all safety regulations. 5. Refill and Balance Pool Water Refill the pool to proper operating level. Chemically balance the water to meet public health and safety standards for pool operation. Provide documentation of final water chemistry readings Alternate Scope of Work Items The City is requesting pricing for optional upgrades which may or may not become part of this project contract. Please provide estimated costs for the following items: 1. Replace Filter Media with Glass Media Remove existing sand filter media from pool filtration system. Clean and inspect filter beds. Refill with glass filtration media compatible with the current system specifications. 2. Install New Pool Heater Remove and properly dispose of the existing pool heater. Furnish and install a Power Max 1.5 million BTU heater or approved equal. Ensure proper electrical, gas, and plumbing connections per code requirements. Test for safe and efficient operation. 3. Joint replacement Inspect joints around the pool deck Provide pricing to replace the joints as needed 4. Replace Interior Pool Lights Remove and dispose of existing underwater lights. Furnish and install new, energy-efficient LED underwater lighting, suitable for pool use. Confirm all new lights are watertight and function upon completion.
