All questions shall be submitted in writing by 12:00 PM Noon on May 14, 2025. The inspection was to address the following objectives Observe, assess, and collect bulk samples of friable and non-friable asbestos containing building materials within the specific scope of work. The inspection was intended to identify all homogeneous areas, and did not attempt to identify or address any other environmental health hazards. The scope of work did not include identifying all potential concerns or eliminate possible risks. Please note that if you are submitting a proposal via the U.S. Postal Service, address your submittal to the City of West Chicago, 475 Main Street, West Chicago, Illinois 60185. All bid proposals are to be made on the forms provided and will be made a part of the contract docu-ments to be executed with the City. Bid proposals are to be received in a sealed 9"x12" or 10"x13' envelope. The envelope shall be marked: "Police Department HVAC Improvements Project", and the name of the bidder. The City of West Chicago is seeking bids for HVAC improvements at the Police Department building located at 325 Spencer Street, West Chicago, Illinois, 60185. The project includes, but is not limited to, the follow-ing items: Select demolition, HVAC roof top unit equipment replacement, boiler replacement, roof patching, temperature controls, VAV box replacement, Acoustical ceilings, painting, electrical and other asso-ciated work. Bids shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the amount of 5% of the bid. The bid bond shall be in the form of a bid bond, certified check or cashier's check drawn on a responsible bank doing business in the United States and shall be made payable to the City of West Chicago. All bids not accompanied by a bid deposit will be rejected. No bidder may withdraw his/her bid after the sched-uled closing time for a period of ninety (90) days. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bid proposals, to waive any informality in any bid proposal, to readvertise the proposed services, and to accept the proposal most advantageous to the City. The successful bidder shall furnish a Performance Bond and a Labor-Mechanical Payment Bond, both in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the bid amount as a security for the faithful performance of this contract and as a security for the payment of all persons performing labor on the project under this contract and furnishing materials in connection with this Contract, respectively. The City of West Chicago requires all Contractors bidding on Public Works projects and all of their Subcontractors to be governed by the Illinois Prevail-ing Wage Act. Submission of waivers of lien and certi-fied payroll shall be required.
