The work to be performed shall include the open trench installation of approximately 6,450 linear feet of 8-inch push-on DIP water line, 750 linear feet of 8-inch restrained joint DIP water line, sixteen (16) fire hydrants, thirty (30) 8-inch gate valves, thirty (30) valve markers and thirty (30) valve boxes, one (1) 8-inch PRV, 700 linear feet of 16-inch steel casing (cased bore), renewal of forty (40) service lines, relocation of one (1) existing 3-inch water meter and vault, and reconstruction of twelve (12) asphalt driveways and five (5) concrete driveways. The Authority will provide all 8-inch DIP required for the Project. The contractor will provide all other appurtenances and materials required for the Project. Special Conditions and plans in Appendix A contain more detailed information on the Project scope. The scope of work includes the provision by the bidder or contractor of all labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, and supplies necessary to complete the work. The Project will be "turn key" and require minimal involvement of Authority personnel. All work will be performed within public right-of-way. All anticipated rights-of-way and easements required for the Project have been obtained. All anticipated federal, state, and local permits required for the Project have been obtained. All bids must be accompanied by adequate bid security (certified check, bid bond, or irrevocable letter of credit) drawn in favor of the Authority and in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid price, which shall be subject to forfeiture as liquidated damages in the event that the bid be accepted and the bidder fail to promptly enter into the proposed contract for performance of the Project with the Authority. Award may be made to the lowest responsible and responsive bidder; however, the Authority reserves the right to reject all bids or any bid that is nonresponsive or submitted by a non-responsible bidder.
