The system is expected to be at least 71.76 kw in size. The project will be funded by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA). Building Information The Village of Owego Department of Public Works (DPW) garages are in a single-story warehouse style building, located at 20 Elm Street. The building is approximately 6,750 square feet of flat roof, plus a 1,200 sq ft addition with a pitched roof. The selected contractor is expected to design a solar photovoltaic system that will offset the energy usage of the Village office building (22 Elm Street) and potentially the energy usage of the Department of Public Works Garage (DPW) located at 20 Elm Street. The system may also offer backup battery storage to help the village maintain essential services. The roof mounted solar photovoltaic system will be installed on the DPW building. The contractor will need to determine the necessary energy usage. Energy bills can be supplied upon request. The size of the system is expected to be a minimum of 71.76 kW. The project has a not to exceed amount of $187,555. The selected contractor will provide all materials for the installation, including the solar panels and any necessary electrical upgrades. 3. Task 3. Installation. The selected contractor will be responsible for the installation and full set up as well as applying for all available NYSERDA rebates and discounts which should be deducted in the final project cost. The system installation will include all required engineering design, permits, materials, tools, labor, new equipment; electrical upgrades, training, support, and expertise, under the requirements to install for customer interconnect to the utility grid and commission system for use under the NYSERDA Clean Energy Communities Program.
