Site work for a civil project in Morgan Hill, California. Conceptual plans call for site work for a pipeline; and road / highway.
The largest area targeted to underground overhead utility lines lies along San Pedro Avenue going west from Butterfield Boulevard. This project is considerably complicated and available funds are insufficient to complete the project. City staff are assessing options for undergrounding in this area. This assessment will be completed in the FY 2024-25 year. As a separate project, City staff intends to work with PGE to match City Funds with PGE Rule 20A Funds at Old Monterey Road from Llagas Road to Monterey Road in FY2024-25. The City also allocates funds within this project to partner and cost share with developers that are doing underground work, to underground adjacent lines outside a developers required undergrounding limits. This strategy allows for the best pricing for undergrounding utilities. As of May 05, 2025 ,This project is included in the city's 2025-2030 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
