The Okeechobee County Board of County Commissioners seeks qualified contractors to remove, relabel, relocate, and install and replace waterway markers across key waterways, ensuring compliance with Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) standards. This project aims to enhance navigational safety and maintain regulatory compliance within Taylor Creek, Rim Canal, and the Kissimmee River. Contractors must furnish all necessary materials, equipment, labor, and appurtenances to remove, relocate, and install or replace the specified existing waterway markers (buoys). All work performed must meet the standard requirements provided by FWC. This initiative involves: Removing seven (7) existing waterway markers, relabeling, and relocating them to designated FWC-approved locations within the Taylor Creek and Rim Canal. These relocations will include the installation of new mooring and anchoring systems. Installing one (1) additional waterway marker within the Taylor Creek and Rim Canal at a designated FWC-approved location, complete with proper labeling and new mooring and anchoring system. Replacing one (1) damaged "Idle Speed No Wake" marker of the same type and size, utilizing the existingmooring and anchoring system at the Kissimmee River. The selected contractor will be required to supply heavy-duty float collar-style can buoys that meet specific dimensional requirements and are equipped with internal ballast- bottom attachments. Each bid must be accompanied by an acceptable Bid Security in the form of a Bid Bond, or Certified Check, made payable to Okeechobee County Board of County Commissioners, in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total B id Amount. The Bidder, if awarded the Contract and the bid amount is $100,000 or more, will execute and file acceptable performance and payment bonds equal to 100% of the contract price within ten (10) calendar days after written notice of the award of contract. No bidder may withdraw their bid for a period of ninety (90) calendar days after the date set for opening of bids. The Board of County Commissioners have the right to accept or reject any or all bids.
