Site work for a water / sewer project in Ashland, Wisconsin. Conceptual plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Site Directions: Approximately 9 miles east of Ashland WI on Hwy 2, turn left onto Maple Street, proceed for 1/4 mile and turn left onto Birch Street. WWTF is at the dead end of Birch St. The Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa (Owner) is soliciting proposals for professional engineering services from qualified Engineering Firms (Firm) for the planning and design of improvements at the New Odanah Wastewater Treatment Facility (WWTF). The WWTF is a Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR) and was updated in 2001 for a design flow of 140,000 gallons per day. The existing treatment facility consists of mechanical fine screens followed by an influent equalization tank. Wastewater then flows to a two tank SBR system. Though some biological removal of phosphorus occurs in the system, a chemical feed system is also used for phosphorus removal. Effluent from the SBR's goes through ultra-violet disinfection and then discharges to the Bad River via outfall. Waste activated sludge is pumped to an aerobic digester and then to one of two treatment/storage lagoons. The treatment/storage lagoons are the old aerated stabilization lagoons that were taken out of service in 1996. One lagoon is approximately 8-feet deep, 0.3 acres in area. The other lagoon is 6 feet deep and 3.38 acres in area. It is the latter lagoon that is being used at this time. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
