Biology Roof Project - A bid for a new roof replacement for the Biology roof project located on the Durant Campus at 425 West University. Shingle Roof: Existing Roof Tear Off-Shingles * Al I composite roofing layers removed to felt *Bottom felt to be left in place unless soft or rotted decking is found in specific areas (provide per square price for decking replacement) *Remove and dispose of all pipe Walley metal to be replaced with new *Surrounding flat roofs must be protected during shingle roof work * Al I debris must be contained in dumpsters and work area cleaned at the end of each work day *Provide necessary safety equipment to section off work areas on roof & ground *Bid must include all labor and debris removal/haul off cost to remove existing roof New Roof Install-shingles * Install new 15# synthetic felt underlayment over all roofing slopes * Install new ice & water shield at transition walls, eaves & valleys * Install all new 3nl galvanized pipe jacks *Paint all 3nl pipe jacks to match shingle color * Install shingle starter strip (manufacturer approved starter) * Install new laminate limited lifetime (30 year equivalent grade) shingles Walleys to be closed * Install ridge cap shingles (manufacturers 3-tab is acceptable) *Seal around all pipe jacks & other roof vents with color coordinated sealant * All new roofing material must be lifted onto roof with adequate sized telehandler * All roofing debris must be cleaned from roof & ground & disposed of at the end of each work day *New roof material can be staged in parking lot (contractors responsibility to properly block off & maintain clean & organized work site) * All areas blocked off by contractor must be approved by campus police Approved Materials-shingles *Synthetic felt must be a minimum of 15# any manufacturer *New shingles must be limited lifetime (30 year equivalent) Owens Corning Duration or CertainTeed Landmark *Starter must be manufacturer's specific starter *Hip & ridge cap shingles must be same manufacturer as the laminate field shingles *3nl pipe jacks must be IPS or equivalent *Spray paint to be equivalent to ABC branded paint or equivalent *Sealant must be NP1 sealant or equivalent Contractor must provide a 5 year labor warranty to the university for all work completed (Shingles) Flat Roof: *Remove existing built up roof system *Repair decking as needed at sq ft price *Mechanically attach 2" poly iso insulation board * Fully adhere 60 mil TPO over roof area *lnstall new wood nailer around perimeter * Install edge flashing 24 gauge with cleat system *Accepted TPO manufactures are GAF, Carlisle and Versico, contractor must be a certified installer for the manufacturer they are bidding with *Contractor must provide a 5 year labor warranty and 20 year material to the university (TPO) Contractor Requirements *Contractor must be in good standing & have a valid roofing license in the state of Oklahoma *General liability & workers comp certs shall be provided to the University from contractor *Contractor shall be responsible for all safety equipment required by OSHA to maintain a safe work environment *NO smoking allowed on campus at any time * All workers including subcontractors are the contractors' responsibility and contractor is liable for any damages caused by workers or equipment during roof project. Alternate: Standing seam roof metal with minimum spec of 24 gauge thickness. This is for the area that is currently shingled.
