The Parkview Project consists of replacing approximately 670 feet of pipeline, 12 service connections and associated water meters, and three fire hydrants along Parkview Drive in Casitas Springs. Specifically, the project will replace the existing 2-inch water main with an 8-inch water main. Engineers' estimate for this project is $756,000. All bids shall be accompanied by a cashier's check or certified check payable to the order of Ventura River Water District, amounting to (10%) percent of the Bid or by a bond in said amount and payable to Ventura River Water District signed by the Bidder and a corporate surety, or by the Bidder and two sureties who shall justify before any officer competent to administer an oath, in double the amount and over and above all statutory exemptions ("Security"). In the event that the Bidder fails, within five (5) working days after written notice that the Contract has been awarded to them; to enter into a Contract with the District, the District may award the Contract to the second lowest bidder. In such event, the amount of Bidder's Security shall be applied by the VRWD to the difference between the Bidder's Bid and the second lowest Bid, and the surplus of the Security, if any, shall be returned to the Bidder if cash or check is used, or to the surety on Bidder's bond if a bond is used. No bidder may withdraw its bid for a period of ninety (90) days after the date set for the opening thereof. BID PROTEST: Any Bid protest must be submitted in writing to the Project Manager at the District Office located at 409 Old Baldwin Road, Ojai, CA before 4:30 PM of the fifth Business Day following transmission and posting of the District's Notice of Intent to Award.
