Improvements on this unit price Contract include Base Bid - Schedule 'A'. The work consists of demolition and disposal of an existing structural steel and wood pier, labor and installation for a concrete pier to include: drill shafts (24 in), CIP concrete cap and abutment, elastomeric bearing, water pipe support (including pipe support and anchor bolts), precast prestressed concrete slab beam, CIP concrete topping slab (including all joints), guardrail, riprap, chain link fence, 12-inch waterline removal and replacement (PVC and Ductile Iron), and fittings, complete with all related appurtenances, all constructed in accordance with the construction plans, specifications and contract documents. A bid bond in the amount of 5% of the highest amount bid must accompany each proposal. Failure to provide the bid bond will constitute a non-responsive proposal which will not be considered. Failure to provide the required performance and payment bonds for contracts over $25,000.00 will result in forfeiture of the 5% bid bond to the City as liquidated damages. Attention is called to the fact that not less than, the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, as issued by the Texas Department of Agriculture Office of Rural Affairs and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual identity, gender identity, or national origin. Bids may be held by the City of Mathis for a period not to exceed 30 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder's qualifications prior to the contract award. All contractors/subcontractors that are debarred, suspended or otherwise excluded from or ineligible for participation on federal assistance programs may not undertake any activity in part or in full under this project.
