Improvements on this Unit Price Contract Include: Base Bid - Schedules 'A' through 'H' for which the work consists of existing sanitary sewer cleaning operations, pipe bursting, pipe installation by open cut, pipe point repairs, cleanout and manhole improvements, approximately 3,360 LF of new 24" ASTM F679 PVC sanitary sewer pipe, 10 FRP manholes, full depth pavement repair, sanitary service line reconnections, by-pass pumping, complete with all related appurtenances, all constructed in accordance with the construction plans, specifications and contract documents. Failure to provide the bid bond will constitute a non-responsive proposal which will not be considered. Failure to provide the required performance and payment bonds for contracts over $25,000.00 will result in forfeiture of the 5% bid bond to the City as liquidated damages. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, as issued by the Texas Department of Agriculture Office of Rural Affairs and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual identity, gender identity, or national origin. The City of Mathis reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive irregularities and to accept the bid which, in the City's opinion, seems most advantageous to the City and in the best interest of the Public. Bids may be held by the City of Mathis for a period not to exceed 30 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder's qualifications prior to the contract award. All contractors/subcontractors that are debarred, suspended or otherwise excluded from or ineligible for participation in federal assistance programs may not undertake any activity in part or in full under this project.
