The City of Edgewood is seeking a Contractor to furnish all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to perform annual maintenance of existing drainage facilities in the former Drainage District #21 service area, for a period of up to two (2) years, including but not limited to removal of debris and canary grass, from bank to bank, to ensure unobstructed water flow. Removal of said debris and vegetation shall be accomplished using hand tools such as machetes, clippers, weed-whackers, chainsaws, or other similar hand-carried tools, and any spoils shall be placed at least 10 feet from either side of the channel to prevent water quality impacts. No mechanical removal or excavation will be allowed under this contract. All work must comply with the City's Critical Areas Ordinance and conditions established by the Hydraulic Project Approval (HPA) issued by the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife. The City does not intend to visit the entire project area. Multiple creek channels can be accessed at the above location. If companies want to look at additional sections of the creeks and channels we can discuss this during the meeting and city staff can help with directions.
