Renovation of a museum in Washington, District of Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a museum.
The proposed prices will be evaluated for reasonableness. Price reasonableness determines whether an Offeror's price is too high or too low. Analysis of price proposals will be performed using one or more of the techniques defined in FAR 15.404 in order to determine price reasonableness. The Smithsonian Institution reserves the right, in accordance with the regulations governing this request for proposal, to reject offers that are deemed to reflect an unrealistic price, suggesting a lack of understanding of the complexity and risks associated with the contract requirements. Award of this project is contingent upon the availability of funding and will be at the discretion of the Contracting Officer. Furnish all supervision, labor, materials and equipment needed to provide flood mitigation strategies at the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History (NMAH) located at 1300 Constitution Avenue NW, as set forth on the Drawings for SF Project No. 1803118, sheets 1 through 38 and in these specifications, both dated July 21, 2023 The Work includes, but is not limited to the following: o Enlargement of manhole and installation of backflow preventer (North Side.) o Installation of a storm sump pump, associated drainage piping, and a post and plank flood shield (East Side.) o Evacuation and restoration of planter bed and stone paver terrace to replace section of collapsed storm sewer piping and installation of a backflow preventer. Reinstall pavers on terrace (West Side.) o Deliver flood barrier and custom metal storage crates to West Terrace. Provide gravel pads and install crates, new concrete slabs at North and South planter beds, anchorages, and infrastructure required at the terrace to receive flood barriers. (West Side.) total contract time of 220 calendar days.
