Description of Work Work Area 1 includes asphalt pavement taxilane, grading, modified subbase, storm, sanitary, and water utility installation. Work Area 2 primarily consists of constructing a water meter and backflow preventer building, including site embankment, water main, fittings, and other appurtenances. The Engineer's estimate of probable construction cost is between $755,000 and $835,000. General project scope items: o 600 ft of water main o 650 ft of storm sewer o 400 ft of sanitary sewer o 1,200 CY Class 10 excavation and embankment o 1,600 SY subgrade, geotextile, and modified subbase o 420 tons hot mix asphalt o Water meter and backflow preventer building o Erosion control o 4 acres seeding, fertilizing, mulching Contract Time Information After issuance of Notice to Proceed, contractor may commence work on the project. The Mason City Municipal Airport has established a construction completion date of October 17, 2025 for Work Area 1, and a construction completion date of May 22, 2026 for Work Area 2. All project work shall be completed within the stated timeframe. This project is subject to liquidated damages as prescribed within the project manual. Bid security in the amount of Five percent of the Bid must accompany each Bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. The successful bidder shall be required to provide performance and payment Bonds, each in the amount of 100 percent of the Contract Price.
