Site work for a road / highway in Albert Lea, Minnesota. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.
Type a sign replacement I 35 SB mile post 23.9 structure failure at footing post. MN DOT to provide new signs contractor to provide and install posts and install new signs. We have an A sign (I beam sign) down on I-35 south bound at milepost 23.9, due structure failure at the footing post. MNDOT will provide a new sign panel (168"wide x 162" height) along with supplemental EXIT 22 sign panel (96" wide x 30" height) that will need to be attached to the extruded panels with pop rivets and some of the extruded panel post clips may need to furnished also. The contractor will need to provide 2 @ 8 x 28 x 14 ' H pile footing posts and drive them into ground. The contractor will also need to replace 1 I beam lower sign post @ 8" x 6 1/2" x 122", which can be a salvaged post, (does not need to be new), the hinge and fuse plates should be checked for structural soundness and replaced as needed, along with the 2 keeper plates and 8 @ 7/8" x 5" ground mount bolts. MNDOT will relocate the sign structure and mark the new location, and remove the existing footings below ground at a later date. Work to be completed by June 30, 2025.
