Mill Creek Water Tower Rehabilitation The Proposal shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check drawn on a solvent Illinois bank or trust company made payable to City of Barry, or a Bid Bond issued by a surety licensed to conduct business in the state of Illinois and appearing on the U.S. Treasury Department's most current list (Circular 570, as amended), in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid. The Bid Bond may be retained by the Mill Creek Water District, as a guaranty that if the Proposal is accepted, the bidder will execute the Contract and file an acceptable Performance Bond and Payment Bond within fifteen (15) days after the award of the Contract. All Contracts for the Construction of Public Works are subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1-12). The award of Contracts on this project shall be predicated upon competitive bidding, with award being made to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder. Said lowest Bidders shall be determined for each Contract by summarizing the applicable low base bids. Mill Creek Water District reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive all informalities in the bids. No bids may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days subsequent to the specified time for receipt of bids The Engineer will consider such questions submitted in writing at least 10 days prior to bid opening.
