Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Melrose Park, Illinois. Working plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
As of August 07, 2025, project was denied. Project will rebid but late this year. This project includes the construction of water main improvements, storm sewer replacement, patching concrete and asphalt driveways and roadways, and performing other related work. Proposals must be submitted on the forms provided. All bid proposals offered must be accompanied by a bid bond, cashier's check, or certified check in an amount not less than Five Percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid, as a guarantee that if the bid proposal is accepted, a contract will be entered into, and the performance of the contract is properly secured. Checks shall be made payable to the Village of Melrose Park. No bid proposal will be considered unless accompanied by such bid bond or check. No bid shall be withdrawn after the opening of the proposals without the consent of the President and the Board of Trustees of the Village of Melrose Park for a period of 45 days after the scheduled time of closing bids. The successful bidder for the construction of the improvement will be required to file a performance bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the bid, with sureties to be approved by the President and Board of Trustees, which performance bonds shall be conditioned upon proper and faithful performance by the Contractor of the work specified in accordance with the plans and specification therefore, according to the time and terms and conditions of the contract; and also that the bidder and contractor shall properly pay all debts incurred by the Contractor in the execution of the work, including those for labor and materials furnished. The successful bidder will be required to furnish sufficient insurance or guaranty of indemnity to the Village and the Engineer against any and all claims which might arise for damages to persons or property due to the negligence of the Contractor or Subcontractors, or their officers, agents, employees, or servants, during the construction of said improvement and until the said improvement has been finally accepted as complete by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Melrose Park. The Contractor and all Subcontractors shall comply with all regulations issued pursuant to Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS130) and other applicable Federal Laws and regulations pertaining to labor standards. The Village reserves the rights to determine the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder, to waive irregularities, and to reject any or all bid proposals. This Project shall consist of the transferring of water services on 25 th Avenue from Lake Street to Division Street within the corporate limits of Melrose Park, in Cook County, Illinois. Water services will be transferred from a 6" watermain to an existing 12" watermain. The 6" watermain will be retired as part of this project. Work related to improving the identified street includes the retiring of the old water main, removal and replacement of fire hydrants and auxiliary valves, removal of old valve vaults and valve boxes, removal and replacement of any curb and gutter, concrete driveways, and hot-mix asphalt surfaces affected by the work involved in the project. Replacement of lead water services from the buffalo boxes to the water meter inside properties will also be included. The Village of Melrose Park is the recipient of a grant from the United States Environmental Protection Agency Grant (USEPA) and the funds awarded to the Village as part of this Grant will be used to fund a portion of this Project. The USEPA Grant Agreement establishes certain requirements that are made part of these Bidding and Contract documents
