Background The City currently maintains a 53-year-old satellite fire station at 1590 South President Street that has been evaluated and determined to be not adequate from a functional or rehabilitation standpoint. It has been determined that a study should take place to replace the existing structure and related site improvements with a new satellite fire station on the same site, incorporating existing water storage and water pumping assets that will remain on the site. Location A map of the area, including the existing water storage and water pumping assets are attached as Attachment 1. Scope of Services Space Needs Study Survey and analyze the present and projected programming and space requirements of the fire staff to operate from the new facility. It is expected the Space Needs Study will define and illustrate the space needs and conceptual layout from a personnel, training, equipment, storage and site operations perspective. This will be a full-service facility that when designed and constructed shall consider current needs, short term future needs as well as a facility ready to handle long-term expectations and technology/infrastructure that enhances the service our Fire Department provides to the community. o Conduct in-person interviews to further clarify these requirements, including but not limited to the Fire Chief. o Prepare and present a summary plan outlining an innovative, unique and cost-effective state-ofthe-art facility to handle day-to-day operations. o Create listing of square footage requirements by use/service and preferred adjacencies based on relationships. o Prepare floor plans illustrating the scale and general layout of the space.
