This local project is to rehabilitate a pre-Civil War-era railroad tunnel along the abandoned CSX rail line in Buffalo Township, Washington County to allow connection for the National Pike Shared Use Trail. The scope of work includes the rehabilitation of a Pre-Civil War railroad tunnel along an abandoned CSX rail line. The tunnel is currently used for a section of the National Pike Trail. The proposed rehabilitation efforts include, but are not limited to, masonry cleaning of the inside surface of the tunnel, masonry repointing and repair, crack/spall repair, new drainage along the trail through the tunnel, portal regrading, and drainage swale rehabilitations.
