Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Gilroy, California. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; and sidewalk / parking lot.
The work includes furnishing all labor, materials, incidentals, and equipment necessary to perform pavement rehabilitation of various roads including pavement digouts; pavement milling; hot mix asphalt pavement overlay; concrete flatwork; adjustment of utilities to grade; installation of traffic stripes, pavement markings and markers, and roadside signs; replacement of traffic signal loops; tree removal and replacement; traffic control; and other incidentals thereto, in various locations in the City of Gilroy, as indicated in these Plans and Specifications. The project includes thirteen streets and two alleys. Four of the thirteen streets (Uvas Park Dr, West Tenth St, Princevalle St, and Carmel St) are near schools. Pavement rehabilitation of these four streets shall be substantially complete by August 20, 2025 (the first day of school for Gilroy Unified School District).| Deadline for Questions May 27, 2025 at 2:00 PM Award Contract June 16, 2025 Construction Start Date July 1, 2025 Time of Completion 60 Working Days Bidding procedures are prescribed in the Project Manual. Bids shall be executed upon the forms bound and made a part of said Manual. Bid guaranty in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid dollar amount conforming to the prescribed bidding procedures is required to be submitted with each bid, as a guaranty to be forfeited should the bidder, if awarded the contract, fails to enter into the same, or fails to furnish in a timely manner the bonds and/or proof of insurance. Pursuant to Public Contract Code Section 22300, for monies earned by the Contractor and withheld by the City of Gilroy to ensure the performance of the Contract, the Contractor may, at its option, choose to substitute securities meeting the requirements of said Public Contract Code Section 22300. All bidders shall be licensed under the provisions of Chapter 9, Division 3 of the Business and Professions Code of the State of California to do the type of work contemplated in the project. In accordance with provisions of California Public Contract Code Section 3300, the City has determined that the Contractor shall possess a valid Class A license at the time that the bid is submitted. Failure to possess the specified license shall render the bid as non-responsible. For any bid proposal submitted on or after March 1, 2015, and any contract for public work entered into on or after April 1, 2015, Section 1725.5 of the California State Labor Code requires that a contractor must be registered with the California State Department of Industrial Relations to be qualified to bid on, be listed in a bid proposal or engage in the performance of any public work contract that is subject to the requirements of this chapter. "Contractor" includes subcontractors as defined by the Code Section 1722.1. Failure of the contractor and subcontractors to be registered at the time of bidding as required by the labor code shall render the bid as non-responsible.
