As of August 28, 2025, the project is preparing for construction. A contractor has been selected, but a firm timeline has not been set. Construction is expected to begin in mid-2026. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: Marana Municipal Complex Generator Upgrade The Town of Marana seeks proposals from qualified Contractors to construct the Marana Municipal Complex Generator Upgrade as set forth in the IFB. The Town will not be responsible for the failure of a prospective bidder to obtain addenda and other information related to the IFB. PROPOSED PROJECT IS TO UPGRADE EXISTING BACKUP GENERATOR TO SUPPLY SUFFICIENT POWER FOR TOWN OF MARANA CIVIC CENTER TO FULLY OPERATE IN AN EVENT OF A POWER OUTAGE. PROPOSED PROJECT IS TO REMOVE, REPLACE, AND MODIFY EXISTING GENERATOR, ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT, ENCLOSURES, AND PAD TO BE ABLE TO ACCOMPLISH THIS GOAL Final Date for Inquiries..(3:00 p.m.), May 27, 2025 This project will upgrade the existing backup generator and associated electrical devices to a larger unit at the Marana Town Hall, located at 11555 W Civic Center Drive. New generator enclosure walls, utility line relocations and a new 1800-gal fuel tank will also be part of this project. Refer to Project Plans Appendix A, Appendix B and Appendix C attached as a separate file to this IFB. An approved electrical shutdown, backup and re-energization plan is required before any work commences on site. Pre-event meeting(s) will be held prior to any electrical disruption. Electrical switchovers and, or any work that would disrupt normal business operations should be planned for weekends to lessen the impact on the work week. A temporary backup generator must be in place during construction to provide emergency power. The 10' and 4' gates referenced in Appendix A; on page C-1.0 shall NOT be salvaged. New gates shall match the existing Town of Marana style with a steel Western perforated rib mesh. Salvaged 400 KW generator and 800-amp ats to be delivered to 5100 W. Ina Road. Proper lock- out, Tag-out procedure must be followed. The employee parking lot access must remain open during normal business hours Monday through Friday. Compaction test tests will be required below generator and fuel pads as well asfor wall footings and trench backfill. Concrete compression tests shall be performed for wall footings and equipment pads. Passing tests must be submitted to the construction inspector. Full payment depends upon passing tests. The cost for material testing shall be considered incidental to the project. There are no work hour restrictions for this location. No water source will be provided. Material submittals, Certificates of Compliance and/or Certificates of Analysis shall be presented to the Project Manager / Construction Inspector for all material delivered to the project. Failure to provide the above paperwork will cause the equipment and/or material to be in rejected status. The contractor will be permitted to stage operations in the unpaved parking lot to the southwest of the project site. Prior to the release of final retention, the contractor must provide lien releases from any/all subcontractors and material suppliers. An exhibit of plans (Located in Appendix A and B) of the various locations is provided as a separate file within the Public Purchase website. Unless otherwise specified in the Construction Contract, the project warranty period shall be 730 consecutive calendar days, commencing from the time of Construction Acceptance as defined in PAG Standard Specifications Section 105-17.03 and Table 105-1. The performance bond shall remain in full force and effect through the warranty guarantee period. Bidders are directed to other conditions and requirements further describing the scope of work as outlined in the contract documents. The Contractor is directed to the Special Provisions for additional requirements of the project.
