Site work, paving and renovation of a mixed-use development in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Completed plans call for the renovation of a museum; for site work for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for paving for a sidewalk / parking lot.
The Project consists of removal and replacement of pavement at the northwest parking area, removal of masonry building entrance patio walls and concrete and replacement with a steel railing system, and aluminum entrance replacement. The Work includes demolition, cast in place concrete, steel railings, aluminum entrance door, automatic operator, painting, pavement, and parking stall painting. The Prime Contractor submitting the Bid shall provide and coordinate all Work required for this Project Starting time for construction shall be within ten (10) days after the written Notice to Proceed is issued. The estimated starting date on site is 7/7/2025. Preparation and ordering of materials shall occur prior to the start of construction. Substantial Completion of the project shall be no later than 9/15/2025. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a bid bond, certified check, cashier's check or certified share draft in a separate sealed envelope, clearly marked "Bid Bond" or Bid Security", in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total amount of the proposal. The certified or cashier's check shall be drawn on a bank in Iowa or a bank chartered under the laws of the United States of America or the certified share draft shall be drawn on a credit union in Iowa or chartered under the laws of the United States and payable to the City of FortDodge Blanden Art Museum. Said check or share draft may be cashed, or the bid bond forfeited as liquidated damages in the event the successful bidder fails or refuses to enter into a contract within ten (10) days of issuance of a Notice of Award and post bond satisfactory to the City of FortDodge Blanden Art Museum insuring the faithful fulfillment of the contract and maintenance of said improvements as required by law. The bid bond should be executed by a corporation authorized to contract as a surety in the State of Iowa and must not contain any conditions either in the body or as an endorsement thereon. Such bid security will be returned to all except the three lowest bidders within three (3) days after the opening of bids and the remaining cash, checks or bid bonds will be returned promptly after the Owner and the accepted Bidder have executed the Contract, or if no award has been made within thirty (30) days after date of the opening of bids, upon demand of the Bidder at any time thereafter, so long as he has not been notified of the acceptance of his bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish performance and payment bonds in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, said bond to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the FortDodge City Council of the City of FortDodge, and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained, the payment for labor and materials used in the project and the maintenance of said improvements in good repair for not less than one (1) year from the time of acceptance of said improvements by the FortDodge City Council of the City of FortDodge. All bidders shall provide a statement regarding the bidder's resident status. This statement shall be on the 'Bidder Status Form' designated by the Iowa Department of Labor Commissioner and available on-line. Failure to submit a fully completed 'Bidder Status Form' with the bid may result in the bid being deemed non-responsive and rejected.
