Bidders are to send their proposals through the US Postal Service or other recognized delivery service that provides certification of delivery to the sender. Bids will not be accepted via facsimile transmission or email. Bids must be accompanied by a certified check, bank cashier's check, treasurer's check or Bid Bond, with corporate surety satisfactory to the Owner, in an amount not less than 10% of the Base Bid (but in no case in excess of $20,000.00, pursuant to N.J.S.A 18A:18A-24), naming as payee or obligee, as applicable, Atlantic City Board of Education, to be retained and applied by the undersigned as provided in Contract Documents in casebidder would default in executing the Agreement or furnishing the required bonds and insurance certificates as required by Contract Documents. Prospective bidders are advised that this Project is one which will be subject and will be governed by provisions of New Jersey State Law governing (a) Prequalification of Bidders N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-26 et seq. No proposals may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the date set for opening of bids. Right is reserved to waive minor irregularities and to reject bids pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-22. The work for this project includes, but is not limited to, the following items: 1. Clearing site 2. Provide barriers to prevent unauthorized entry and to protect work 3. Construction layout. 4. Demolition of existing concrete in the courtyard area 5. Demolition of existing flight of stairs and railing in the courtyard area 6. Synthetic turf including a one inch (1") thick foam padding 7. Coarse aggregate stone and sand subbase for turf 8. Concrete curbs flush with grade around the perimeter of the synthetic turf area for the purpose of securing the turf. 9. Construction of new stairs and railings. 10. Installation of a new five foot (5') wide perimeter walkway around the synthetic turf area. 11. Site cleanup and restorations 12. Contract closeout documentation. No interpretation of the meaning of the specifications will be made to any bidder orally. Every request for such interpretations should be made in writing to the school district purchasing administrator at abyngs@acboe.org and to be given consideration must be received at least ten (10) business days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids
