Special Inspections Services related to the construction of the Rockbridge Area Department of Social Services Building. The City of Lexington is soliciting proposals for Special Inspection Services for the construction of the Rockbridge Area Department of Social Services located at 25 C J Morrison Drive in Buena Vista. The 17,299 square foot DSS building is being built on behalf of Rockbridge County, the City of Buena Vista, and the City of Lexington. The City of Lexington is serving as the fiscal agent on behalf of all three entities and holds the construction contract with RL Price. The City of Lexington is also overseeing the construction, with an owner's representative on site. The City of Lexington reserves the right to reject any and all proposals submitted if it appears to be in the best interest of the City or completion of the project to do so. Services required within the scope of an agreement between the City of Lexington and a successful respondent will ideally commence within the period beginning July 1 to early August 2025. Subsequent inspection services as specified will then be required at appropriate intervals throughout the completion of construction. Substantial completion of the project is anticipated by June 2026.
