The proposed improvements to the Ralph and Mary Geeting legal drain include the reconstruction and realignment of the pipe to accommodate runoff from the existing surrounding roadway and neighborhood as well as runoff discharged from the proposed Madison County Sheriff's Office & Detention Center project site. The proposed 24" concrete pipe will begin at the jail site connection point on the west side of Broadway Street, cross Broadway Street via jack and bore, and continue along Seminole Drive where it will reconnect to the existing storm system at Iroquois Street. The proposed pipe alignment involves several existing utility crossings which will need to be lowered, replaced through the trench width, or protected depending on the depth and condition of the lines as discovered in the field. Seminole Drive will be closed to thru traffic with full closures of segments of the road as needed for trenching and pipe installation. Bid Security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid MUST accompany each Bid in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders made payable to the Madison County Board of Commissioners. Bid Security can be in the form of "a satisfactory bid bond or certified check pursuant to Ind. Code 36-1-12-4.5." Bids may be held for a period not to exceed ninety (90) days before awarding contract. Bids shall be properly and completely executed and include all required submissions. Prior to approval and execution of the subcontract agreements, the successful Bidders WILL BE REQUIRED to furnish Performance and Payment Bonds for one hundred percent (100%) of their Contract.
