Site work and renovation of a water / sewer project in Rock Island, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.
Bids from contractors for a rehabilitation project at a house located at 719 4th Street. This owner-occupied property will be undergoing rehabilitation using Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds to ameliorate deteriorating and deteriorated conditions. All work shall be subject to HUD 35.930 and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations. All questions shall be directed to the Construction Officer at 309-732-2906. Scope of Work The bidder shall submit a project plan using the design standards below that is in compliance with all applicable HUD, EPA, and State of Illinois regulations as well as all local building and zoning codes. The plan must include a clear project timeline and budget with line item costs. The contractor shall act as the general contractor for the project using subcontractors as required. Subcontractors that will be required should be clearly identified in the project plan. Plumbing o Remove existing 40-gallon gas fired gravity water heater. Install new short 40-gallon High efficient gas fired water heater, do not use Richmond brand. Turn the new unit so that the front of the water heater is accessible. Replace the old brass inline shut of valve with new inline shut off. Install an TPRV line no less the 6" from the floor with approved material . Install the PVC flue to the exterior of the home and fresh air intake near the flue following manufacture's installation. There is a power source close by to add a receptacle for the power vent. Water Heater must be lit and operational at the proper temps before leaving. o Remove all the galvanized water supply lines from the meter in the basement converting to new copper. Install new washing machine hook ups in the basement. Install shut offs to all the fixtures on the first floor. Remove screens from the fixtures upon completing the new plumbing system to flush the new lines. o Install a silcock in the existing location using frost-free prevention and isolated shutoff. o Remove all the existing gas lines from the meter. Install new hard pipe approved gas piping to the furnace, water heater, dryer, and Stove. Install shut offs at each fixture with drip legs. Install hanger per code. HVAC o Remove most of the existing duct work in the basement. o Install new main supply trunk and takeoffs with floor registers. As of now there are only 3 existing lines suppling heat to one area of the home. o Install proper return air duct work and panning in the basement to serve the home air circulation. o Install furnace rack with covering that is the correct size to fit the return air duct work. o Tape or dope paste all the joints, seams, and penetrations. o Reinstall the thermostat at higher elevation on the wall. o Install Condensation pump and new line off the furnace to floor drain. Install the Electrical panel cover with 4 screws. The panel cover is there next to the panel. Plumbing and Mechanical permits required before work starts. Alternative specifications shall be considered only if they are clearly justified, cost effective, and meet all project objectives. The contractor shall have 30 days to complete the work from the date of contract signing. Change work orders over the course of the project are strongly discouraged. Bids shall be reviewed for pricing, experience, previous work history, references, State Licenses, State Registration, insurances, bonds, subcontractors, equipment owned, equipment rented, operator experience, and financial stability. The City at its sole discretion shall decide after a review which contractor, if any, is responsive to the invitation to bid. All bidding and award procedures undertaken by the City in regard to this project shall be consistent with the City's adopted procurement procedures. Submitted bid prices shall remain valid for 60 days after bid opening.
