The purpose of the bid is to obtain a Contractor to trim trees in the City of Ellensburg. The tree trimming will provide clearance around utility electrical distribution lines. The Contractor will provide all labor, tools, equipment, and materials required to complete the contract.The amount of the contract shall be the actual hours worked at the rate stated in the proposal. The bid bond and performance bond shall be based on a 500 hour contract. This is only an approximate length of contract. The actual hours worked may be less than the 500 hour amount. All work on this project shall be accordance with WAC 296-45-455 Line-Clearance TreeTrimming Operations, and the Contractor, any Subcontractor's and, all employees working on the project shall be experienced power line-clearance tree trimmers that are qualified to trim trees around electrical distribution lines and have experience in tree trimming in close proximity to high voltage power lines. The project sites are located in Ellensburg, Washington. All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in a cashier's check or surety bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond within the time stated in the specifications, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the City of Ellensburg. Work on Schedule-A shall begin on September 22, 2025, includes 420 hours and shall be completed in 70 working days.Work on Schedule-A shall be completed by December 31, 2025. Work on Schedule-B is for on-call work on an as-needed basis but may not include any work. Schedule B includes 80 hours and shall begin on January 1, 2026. Work on Schedule-B shall be completed by September 18, 2026. No bidder may withdraw their bid after the hour set for the opening thereof or before the award of contract, unless said award is delayed for a period exceeding sixty days. The City of Ellensburg, Washington, reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive irregularities or informalities in the bid or in the bidding. Responsibility and competency of bidders and their subcontractors will be considered in making the award. All documents received in response to this invitation to bid will become a matter of public record subject to the Washington public disclosure act under chapter 42.56 RCW.
