Site work and paving for a road / highway in Stevensville, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
**As of July 01, 2025, the project was awarded to Bishop Brothers Construction Co Inc, with an awarded amount of $124,815.88.** McCauley Hill Rd Paving Contract: Contractor is to mill approx. 694 SY, furnish and place approx. 1,182 ton of 19mm Asphalt Binder 64E, Fine Graded, and approx. 172 ton of 2A Aggregate. Proposals must be submitted on forms furnished by the township and include a Bid Bond in the amount of 10% of the contract. Performance bond and Payment bond in the amount of 100% of the contract as well as proof of workers compensation insurance will be required within 20 days of receiving notice of being awarded the contract. All work and material must meet current PA Dept of Transportation Specifications Form 408 and its Supplements. Pennsylvania Prevailing Wages are applicable to this project. The Township reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any technicality or formality within. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: VARIABLE DEPTH MILLING This item of work is to provide a proper tie in to existing roadways, so that current grade and drainage at intersections will remain the same when paving is completed. Provide a milling machine designed and built for milling existing asphalt roadway pavement with a grade and slope control system. Mill the existing asphalt surface as required, for the full width of the roadway. Milling should provide a properly cross-sloped surface to maintain drainage throughout construction. Milling operations should be in accordance with PennDOT Pub 408, section 491. 19MM ASPHALT BINDER COURSE, 64E FINE GRADED: Superpave Asphalt Mixture Design, 19 mm, PG 64E-22, Asphalt Binder Course 0.3 to < 30 million ESAL's, SRL-Any, Fine Graded. Furnish and place compacted asphalt binder course materials across entire cross-section of roadway at a uniform depth as required (depths and respective locations shown above), using full width paving equipment when possible to avoid joints in the finished pavement. Completed pavement should provide sufficient cross-slope (approximately 2.0%) to maintain positive drainage throughout construction and positive drainage. Refer to PennDOT Pub 408, section 413.
