Renovation of an educational facility in Honolulu, Hawaii. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

The scope of work includes replacement of existing restroom fixtures within Keller Hall and Physical Science Building. There are a total of 25 restrooms (men's, women's, & all gender). Scope of work includes all new flooring; wall covering; plumbing fixtures; toilet partitions; toilet accessories; door louvers, doors and frames; concrete; metal framing; ceramic tile; fluid applied waterproofing; electrical; painting; guardrail/handrail; plumbing lines; ceiling renovation and painting; installed water closets, urinals, and faucets will be new low-flow type and have sensor actuators; hazardous material abatement including asbestos, lead, PCB/Mercury and Chlordane contaminated soils; replacement of existing exposed exhaust ductwork within the workspaces (bathrooms, janitor closets, and ante rooms) that show damages (holes, corrosion, etc); new exhaust register; ductwork to be modified; and miscellaneous related work as shown in the plans and technical specifications. The existing exhaust ductwork in the Physical Science Building shows missing exhaust registers. A new exhaust register is to be provided and installed. Ductwork to be modified as required. The deadline to submit requests for clarification of the requirements of this IFB is on June 19, 2025. All clarification requests shall be submitted via HePS QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS section, and all responses shall be issued in an addendum. This solicitation contains attachments that bidders must download (open, save, or print documents(s) on their own computer system), enter pricing where indicated, complete any other required information, sign all appropriate forms, and attach (upload) the completed forms to the HePS online response. o be eligible to bid, bidders must possess a valid State of Hawaii Contractor's license B. BIDS FROM CONTRACTORS NOT LICENSED IN THE STATE OF HAWAII WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. In addition, bidders must either possess or list Subcontractors who possess specialty contractor licenses for the specialty work required for this project. The bidder shall be solely responsible for insuring that all specialty licenses required to complete the project are covered in its bid. Failure to list all required subcontractors may be grounds for disqualification. which requires the Contractor and applicable subcontractor(s) to ensure that Hawaii residents compose not less than 80% of the workforce employed to perform the contract on a particular construction project applies to this Project. Certification of Compliance for Employment of State Residents (Exhibit A) in the General Provisions along with a schedule of values, should be submitted prior to award. if the Contractor fails to complete the work or any portion of the work within the time or times fixed in the contract or any extension thereof, the Contractor shall pay to the University $ 500.00 per each calendar day of delay. The liquidated damages constitute a reasonable estimate of the actual damages to be incurred by the University and are not meant to be a penalty. In accordance with Section 103D-323, Hawaii Revised Statutes, this proposal is accompanied with a bid security in the amount of 5% of the total amount proposed. The Bidder shall use the attached Surety Bid Bond form. If the Bidder elects to use other acceptable forms of security listed in Section 2.8 of the General Provisions, the Bidder shall deposit the bid security with the Facilities Business Office prior to the bid due date. However, the University reserves the right to issue the Contract for any combination of the Basic Bid, any Allowance(s), Additive Bid Item(s), and Unit Price(s) within the amount of funds available. Additionally, in the event that the total basic bid exceeds the amount of funds available for the project, the University reserves the right to reduce the scope of work through negotiation The contract time for this project shall be 270 consecutive calendar days Question Deadline 07/09/2025 All clarification requests shall be submitted via HePS QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS section, and all responses shall be issued in an addendum.
