Military Construction Project (MILCON) P732 Design-Bid-Build, Electrical Distribution System Upgrades (Gosport Substation Only) Work includes replacing primary power service transformers and distribution switchgear, connecting to existing feeders on the Main Site distribution, and increasing total system capacity to 168 MVA with three primary transformers. The project modernizes the existing electric supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system. Specific tasks include replacing and increasing the capacity of the Dominion Gosport Industrial Transformers, circuit breakers, and relay control house with new SO transformers, circuit breakers, and relay control house (performed by others); replacing and increasing the capacity of the Gosport Tie Station switchgear with a climate-controlled, pre-engineered stainless-steel switchgear house on a new elevated platform; providing new SCADA controls; connecting primary feeders to the Backbone Ductbank; demolishing Building 1532 (53 m2 switch/substation facility) and Building 1702 (155 m2 switch/substation facility); and constructing two microtunnel railroad crossings for electrical ductbanks.
