DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The project consists of the abandonment of one 2" dual service connection and one 1" single service connection which feed a total of three meters within Highway 9 in Felton. Abandonment shall include disconnection of the service lines at the valve, below-grade abandonment of the lines themselves, plus proper backfill and paving per Caltrans standards. Also included in the project is grinding and repaving an approximately 2' x 16' section of failing trench within nearby Felton Empire Road, which shall be performed to Santa Cruz County standards. SITE OF WORK: Felton, CA Prospective bidders must arrange to collect the specifications and bidding documents at SLVWD at their own cost. SLVWD will only mail specifications and bidding documents when the recipient provides a completed order form with a courier billing account number and payment. No time extensions or other consideration will be given for non-receipt of bidding documents by any prospective bidder. The contract time shall be consecutive calendar days from the date of receipt of the Notice to Proceed. The fixed liquidated damages amount is hereby established as one thousand dollars ($1,000) for each calendar day of unauthorized delay in completion of the Work. The Bidder to whom the award is made will be required to submit a payment bond and a performance bond, each in a principal amount not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the total Contract Price. Bid security or a bid guaranty bond, in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the Total Bid amount, is required to be submitted with the Bid.
