Completed plans call for the addition of a 58,280-square-foot, two-story above grade educational facility; for the demolition of a educational facility; for the renovation of a educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

Project includes partial demolition, additions to and renovations of the Carter Gymnasium building located on the Athens State University Campus. The project is an adaptive re-use design that will convert the gymnasium in to a multipurpose community and event space. Approximately 3,000 SF of the existing footprint to the north of the building structure will be fully demolished. The space will be replaced with 8,000 SF of new construction, An addition to the south of the building of approximately 19,600 SF will also be added. The total existing portion of the building to be renovated is approximately 20,7000 SF.. Contract Time: 730 calendar days. A cashiers check or bid bond payable to Athens State University (Owners legal title) in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidders proposal.
