Site work for a civil project in Newburyport, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and water / sewer project.
The Larkin Dam Removal / Parker River Restoration Project includes: 1) removal of the approximately 38-foot-long, 5-foot-high concrete and stone Larkin Dam spillway and appurtenant structures (i.e., concrete abutments, retaining wall, fish ladder, and fish weirs), 2) dredging and installation of a 3-foot-thick rounded riprap scour countermeasure through the 38-foot-wide, 227-foot-long I-95 bridge located 1,000 feet upstream of the dam, and 3) removal of an 18-foot-wide, 2-foot-high, concrete low-head weir and stone abutment and installation of rounded riprap channel stabilization at the USGS gaging station located 180 feet upstream of the I-95 bridge. Required for DCAMM contracts over $150,000, Highway Division contracts over $50,000. Notice to Proceed is anticipated by July 21, 2025 (pending two state permits expected to be issued prior to that date). Substantial Completion, including completion of all instream work, is required by March 31, 2026. Final Completion is required by July 31, 2026.
