Remodeling and renovation of a military facility in Bremerton, Washington. Completed plans call for the remodel of a military facility.
Modify the existing steam distribution system within the Pier ‘B’ West Mechanical Vault. This location is in an underground vault, subject to confined space entry requirements that require exhaust ventilation and air sampling prior to entry. There are two steam supply pathways inside the vault that can provide steam to Pier ‘B’ on either the east side or west side of the pier. Based on the Government’s review of the installation site, the steam pressure reducing station should be installed on the west side steam piping leg that contains existing steam isolation valve, R-37-7. Alternately, the Contractor may consider installing on the east side piping leg if it can be shown to be mutually beneficial to the Contractor and the Government. Only one leg of the steam piping to Pier ‘B’ will be used for pressure reduction as its opposite leg will be isolated. Contractor shall determine the optimal installation location that will provide suitable access for maintenance.
