The VHA is seeking Design/Build Proposals for the replacement of its existing Fire Alarm Control Panel. The existing Edwards fire alarm system is no longer supported for replacement of components and is at "end of life". The purpose of this project is to enhance safety measures for staff and the public by replacing the existing non-addressable panel with a new code compliant addressable panel and new fire life safety devices as required by code. The project is being conducted in an occupied building which will require planning and consideration to minimize the amount of time the fire alarm is out of service. Confirm Code Implications / Applicability based on proposed SOW - Any new systems shall pass all code applicable reviews including but not limited to: NEC,EIA/TIA, NFPA, State and local inspections and all standard acceptance criteria for testing /commissioning - Proposals to include owner training and orientation once installed. - Accessibility to test and maintain area detection vs. duct smoke detectors Vendor to conduct a fire alarm system test of all equipment following the completion of the replacement.
