The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia by and on behalf of Kennesaw State University, is soliciting Statements of Qualifications from firms interested in providing General Contractor (GC) services for the project. The program spaces included are labs, classroom, photography studio, art galleries, storage and support spaces. Building type is tilt-up, sprinkled, with interior height of 30'-8". Scope to include demolition of mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and partitions. Interior renovation, minor exterior improvements, new mechanical systems, RTUs, air distribution, Plumbing, Slab on grade trenching, electrical, light gauge partition walls, drywall, ceilings, painting, flooring, fire suppression system in Art Gallery, revision to existing fire sprinkler system, emergency generator at Art Gallery, coordination of Cobb EMC transformer, electrical service into the Art Gallery, minor roof repair at new RTU. The firm Houser Walker is currently developing construction documents for the project, which should be complete and available for distribution to eligible firms by July 15, 2025. It is anticipated that construction will begin August 2025 and be completed by March 2026. (All of the dates above are estimates which are subject to change.)
