Bid Intent Not Available 2025 Town Road Crack Sealing The Town of Westerly (Town), Westerly, RI, acting through its Purchasing Department, is hereby soliciting sealed bids for the above referenced Request for Proposal (RFP) and you are hereby invited to submit a Proposal for the Scope of Work described in this Invitation to Bid, in strict accordance with the Bid Documents. Price must include a 5% Bid Bond and cost of Payment and Performance Bonds. The successful subcontractor will be required to post a 100% Payment and Performance Bond. Contractor shall perform the described Work in accordance with the following schedule: While the start date is an approximate milestone date and may be adjusted by the Town to meet the overall project requirements, the Firm Work Completion Date must be strictly adhered to. Approximate Work Start Date: July 8, 2025 Approximate Work Completion Date: October 15, 2025 Firm Work Completion Date: October 31, 2025 Description of Project: The Town of Westerly is seeking bid proposals from qualified Contractors to perform asphalt crack sealing along specified Town-maintained parking lot, roads or portions thereof. Work under this contract will require cleaning and sealing of cracks and open joints at the road segments specified in this RFP. The Contractor shall be responsible for preparation of asphalt surfaces and placement of flexible asphalt-binding crack sealant on the roads listed in this RFP, in accordance with these Specifications and scope of work identified in this RFP. The Contractor shall be responsible for placement of up to 5,000 gallons of crack sealant, to be completed in the sequence identified in this RFP. These activities are anticipated for completion by the end of July, and crack sealing should be scheduled for this lot after these improvements are completed. The Town of Westerly reserves the right to add additional crack sealing areas or to deduct portions of the identified scope of work from this project. The Contractor shall be required to include all incidental costs associated with general conditions, bond costs, insurance costs, administrative costs, permit fees, mobilization, maintenance and protection of traffic, identification and protection of existing utilities, identification of project limits, traffic signage, drums, barrels, cones, furnishment and placement of construction materials, off-site disposal of construction debris and any surplus materials, compaction, as required by regulation or code or as directed by the Engineer; within the unit prices submitted as part of the general bid within the accompanying Bid Form. Police Detail Rate has been included within the attached Bid Form of the proposal. It shall be the Contractor's responsibility to provide police details as required during all periods of construction. The Police Detail Rate is being provided as a pass-through cost to the Contractor under this Contract with no markup allowed and will be paid directly by the Town to the Police Departments providing police detail services. The Contractor shall be responsible for costs associated with coordinating and scheduling police details where required during the progression of their work of the Contract, and for all costs associated with the Contractor's failure to cancel required details within the required time frame. The Contractor shall be provided to provide the project number and name "RFP 26-15 - 2025 Town Road Crack Sealing" on all signed police detail daily reports. The Town will provide representative(s) to give field direction and instructions during the entire construction period in order to provide for efficient progression of the work to be completed under the Contract.
