PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The current facility underwent renovation in 2024/2025 and is approximately 3,540 square feet. It houses an open squad room, multiple officer offices, evidence storage, and a holding and processing area. The Band has outgrown the current police department space and lacks capacity to offer the appropriate range of policing services to adequately serve its service area user population. The Band also lacks adequate space to add additional programs and does not have adequate areas for maintenance and storage. The Owner has hired DSGW Architects to provide the master planning including conceptual, schematic, and final design including construction documents for the project. This proposed expansion of the existing facility will increase access to policing for the communities served while fostering efficient and highly-utilized services. Initial planning by the Band has indicated a need for an approximately 9,000 square foot expansion (400 square feet of evidence storage and 900 square feet of Wellness space, 3,000 square feet of Emergency Management). Actual projected space is subject to change based on the outcome of the master planning by the Architect and Engineering firm. Land is available adjacent to the existing police department. Part of the Architectural and Engineering services includes evaluation for geotechnical suitability and existing utility capacity and connections. Evaluation of adjacent land shall include wetland delineation and development of mitigation requirements for expansion.
