Site work for a bridge / tunnel in Ashley, Ohio. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel.
This Design Build project is funded by OPWC and is to include all labor, materials, and equipment to replace the superstructure only and repair the abutments 1 and a complete bridge replacement . All equipment, labor, and materials necessary to replace a single span bridge on Beaver Pike (C-76) at the 0.71 mile marker and a single span bridge on Bucklick Road (T297) at the 0.16 mile marker. The proposed structures are to be single span bridges with minimal roadway improvement work. Question Deadline 07/03/2025 at 11:00 AM ET Proposals must contain the name and address of every person interested therein and shall be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond for the full amount of bid; or in lieu of the bid guaranty and contract bond the bidder may submit a bid guaranty as provided by Section 153.54 of the Ohio Revised Code in the form of a certified check or cashier's check in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid. Bidders Are Required to Be Pre-qualified With the Ohio Department of Transportation to Submit a Bid for This Project. All contractors and subcontractors involved with the project will to the extent practicable use Ohio products, materials, services, and labor in the implementation of this project. Additionally, contractor compliance with the equal employment opportunity requirements of Ohio Administrative Code Chapter 123 is required. Bidders must comply with the prevailing wage rates on Public Improvements in Jackson County as determined by the Ohio Department of Commerce, Bureau of Wage and Hour Administration, 614.644.2239. The Board of County Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids. WBE- 6.9% goal Beaver Pike Bridge - Only the superstructure will be replaced on this bridge. Repairing the abutments will be necessary and the abutment seat may need raised. The only utility is an overhead Frontier line which can be seen in the photos. It is approximately 15 feet south of the edge of the pavement. There are no existing plans. Bridge width shall match existing bridge width. Right-of-way is 60 feet. The Full Depth Pavement Composition shall be: 1. Item 304 - Aggregate Base (T=6"); Item 301 - Asphalt Concrete Base (T= 6"); Item 441 - Asphalt Concrete Intermediate Course, Type 2, PG64-22, (448) -T=1.75"; Item 441 - Asphalt Concrete Surface Course, Type 1, PG64-22, (448) T=1.25" 2. Treat pavement drop-offs with Item 617 - Compacted Aggregate. Apply Item 408 - Prime Coat.to the top of the Item 617. 3. In the event Unstable or Unsuitable Soils are encountered during Construction, the DBT shall perform stabilization. Bucklick Road Bridge Specifications (T-297-0.16): This will be a complete bridge replacement project. Intent is to stay above the ordinary highwater mark with no work in the creek itself. The concrete at the base of the abutment may stay in place. The new structure shall be centered over the creek, in essence shifting the entire bridge approximately 5 feet east with a right forward skew. Bridge width shall be 20 feet from face of guardrail to face of guardrail. The findings contained in the attached Structure Foundation Exploration Report, dated March 2025, should be referred to and considered in the design. There are no utilities in the project area. There are no existing plans. The new bridge shall have a minimum clear roadway width of at least twenty feet (20') from the face of guardrail to face of guardrail and will be a single span. Right-of-way is 30 feet but a temporary work agreement has been acquired by the property owner involved. The structure must be located within the right-of-way, but the construction limits can be outside the right-of-way by property owner agreement. PAVEMENT - (Minimum of 50ft on each side of the new structure) The Full Depth Pavement Composition shall be: 1. Item 304 - Aggregate Base (T=6"); Item 301 - Asphalt Concrete Base (T= 3"); Item 441 - Asphalt Concrete Intermediate Course, Type 2, PG64-22, (448) -T=1.75"; Item 441 - Asphalt Concrete Surface Course, Type 1, PG64-22, (448) T=1.25" 2. Treat pavement drop-offs with Item 617 - Compacted Aggregate. Apply Item 408 - Prime Coat.to the top of the Item 617. 3. In the event Unstable or Unsuitable Soils are encountered during Construction, the DBT shall perform stabilization.
